THE World University Rankings

THE World University Rankings are prepared by Times Higher Education in collaboration with Thomson Reuters.

THE World University Rankings measures universities in five areas composed of 13 indicators to cover the universities’ three core activities: teaching, research, and knowledge transfer:

  • Teaching (the learning environment): 30%
  • Research (volume, income, and reputation): 30%
  • Citations (research influence): 30%
  • International outlook (staff, students, and research): 7.5%
  • Industry Income (knowledge transfer): 2.5%.

THE World University Rankings publishes data for the 1,000 best-placed universities.

After a minor drop last year, DTU is again moving up in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

This year, DTU is ranked number 153 among the world’s best universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for 2018. DTU is thus up 23 places after last year’s ranking as number 176. In 2016, DTU was number 167.

The ranking measures universities in fives areas: teaching, citations, research, international profile (the proportion of international students, employees, and research projects), and innovation. DTU scores particularly high in citations, international profile, and innovation.
